Tackle Football

(Mr. Jonah #88)
(Kaden, Nick, Bryant and Jonah)
Jonah's loved every minute of football this year.  They had a rough season, but he looked forward to going to 2 hour practices each day, and can't wait for next year to begin.

Finishing out 2009

Sledding on the roads of Marrcrest

Savannah is 9

Birthday breakfast - Cinnamon rolls.

The night before Savannah's birthday, we had a plumbing problem. Chris, our wonderful plumber, spent two days trying to unclog our sewage back up (Gross I know). Yes, those are tree roots that had grown into the pipes causing the problem. We just felt blessed that we didn't have to get a back hoe involved (that was the next option).
Anyhow, with our house out of commission we moved the party to my parent's house. The kids had a great time with a pinata, pizza, cake and movie.

Christmas Concerts
Savannah's Christmas Choir Concert - I couldn't get her video to upload, but she looked tired.

Jonah's class did Christmas caroling and a play- The Gingerbread Man. (I am hoping to get a copy from someone - He was the fox:))

Jacob and "best buddy" Fynn. But he really misses his cousins Maddy and Taylor in Oregon. Jacob's class caroled to Great Grandpa's retirement home (hoping to get video of this too).

*We forgot our camera when we went to Nana and Papas for Christmas Brunch, but had a fun time hanging out with everyone.

Julie and Beck

After Christmas celebration with Julie and Beck. Beck isn't feeling so well, as he is getting older. It was nice of Julie to bring him up for the kids to play with.
Gathering with the Gals
It has been a long time since I had gotten together with my high school friends. Katie was so great to invite us all to her beautiful home to catch up. So much fun! So many laughs!

October 2009 Happenings

Bridal Veil Falls - Enjoying the beautiful hikes so close to home.

UEA - St. George

One day while in St. George with the Murphy Cousins we went to the city park to play in their Red Rock water falls. So messy, but so fun! The kids loved it!
Losing Teeth -
Jonah lost 3 teeth in 2 weeks
Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point

For Family Home Evening we went up to Cornbelly's in Lehi. We had never been here and we were so glad we made the short trip. The kids had a blast riding the slides, jumping on the huge trampolines, riding the go carts and mini cow trains, going through mazes, dressing up and playing in the water. I had so many pictures, but not the room. Yes one day I will do the collage thing.
Hair Cut
Savannah has wanted to donate her hair to those that have cancer ever since her cute friend in Logan, Chloe, got Leukemia. We are happy to say after two rounds of treatments and a Bone Marrow Transplant Chloe is doing well. Although we have not seen her for a while she is always in our thoughts.

I love Savannah with short hair!
Halloween

Savannah/Snow White (Chose to cut her hair the day before so that she would look perfect for this costume) - Jonah/Indian (Chose this so he could have the bow and arrow) - Jacob/Muscle Man (Wore this for about one month, everywhere we went)

Visiting Colby and Annie

Hanging with the Murphy Cousins (Taylor, Mckay, Jackson, Cooper, Jonah, Jessie, Kate, Savannah, Max, Payton, Porter and Jacob)

Chinese Immersion Camp

Last Friday Jonah finished his 8 day Chinese Immersion Camp that will help prepare him for the Chinese Immersion Program he is enrolled in this year at school. He had a blast each day. They were taught Chinese cultural activities in English for two hours and then taught in Chinese for 2 hours. I was truly amazed at how much he learned so quickly. He knows his body parts, colors, greetings, numbers and more. They did a Chinese play of The Little Red Hen, sang songs, did a ribbon dance and Ti Chi. Both of his teachers (Mrs. Porter and Mrs. West) are great and will continue with him through the school year.

It was funny. At church on Sunday Jonah and Savannah were passing notes and I thought Savannah had written pretend Chinese to Jonah. Well actually Jonah had just written 1 -10 in Chinese. Seriously. Have you seen how hard it is to write and remember Chinese? He really is a smart boy who doesn't get enough credit just because he is so active.

He's 6

On Sunday Jonah turned 6. We had Cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then he opened presents from family.

He and Savannah came up with the idea that opening presents with a garden tool would be really great.

They soon found out it was easier to use your hands. Jonah loved the Wii Nerf Game, R/C boat and the Jenga game from his grand parents.
The Whoopee Cushion in the card was pretty cool too.

That night Jonah picked hot dogs for dinner. Afterwards, the Jarvis and Egan family came over to eat the cake that Jonah decorated. Great weather and great party. Happy Birthday Jonah!

On Tuesday Jonah had a friends party at Out Of This World. Lily, Alex, Zane, and Natalie all came.
They had a great time playing on all the indoor slides, bouncers, cars, etc.
Jonah loved all his gifts. The new fascination. . . "Bakugans." I had never heard of them, but good thing his friends had. Thanks for coming everyone!

There they go!

The boys (mostly Jonah) have been making different marble run structures over the past couple of years, but they found a new one this past week and had to have a picture. It may not be their most elaborate one but it definitely was a good one. Way to go guys! And it worked perfectly.

Jonah is really detail orientated when it comes to these things. He loves to "make things work." I guess that is why he is obsessed with the Discovery Channel, he is always "discovering" new things. :)

On your mark . . .

Get set. Go!
Jonah and Savannah had their "Rock the Laps" school fundraiser yesterday. They did great and had a lot of fun. I only got pictures of Jonah because he reminded me to bring the camera when he ran (so that dad could see him). Dustin couldn't make it to watch Jonah. Jonah got in this stance every time he made a lap, so that he could start the race again. Jonah finished with 9 laps (1 1/2 miles) and Savannah with 8 laps (1 1/3 miles) in 20 minutes. Way to go Savannah and Jonah! And thank you, thank you, thank you to family who sponsored them in this event.

Take That!

So this morning Jonah was kind of upset that he couldn't do Step aerobics with me and wanted to do a "boy" exercise. I found the Billy Blanks Basic Training Tae Bo video. He was a little disappointed that there were girls in the video, but he still enjoyed doing it. Watch out world, Jonah is getting in shape!

Jonah's First Day of Kindergarten

Jonah's first day of school was yesterday. He was so excited to ride the bus. We are in a walk zone because we live so close to the school, but they allow the kindergartners to ride on their way. Savannah was very jealous and Jonah is happy to rub it in. Dustin and I had to also go to the school to make sure he got there, and then were told by Jonah to leave.

He loves his teacher and school, but man he was one tired grouch walking home from school. He tried to lay down on a few random lawns and was upset that I didn't bring his bike. Don't worry after day two he is doing much better, and now I know to have a snack ready for him when I pick him up :)
