You couldn't ask for a sweeter girl. I think she tells me she loves me at least a dozen times a day. She always includes others in what she is doing and is always open to having a new friend. She is aways willing to help me do the "hard" stuff around the house, like lifting heavy stuff and she is wanting to learn how to mow the lawn. She is also the best little helper with Liam. She is so gentle with him and will do anything to help him get comfortable.
She is also one smart cookie. She was accepted to the school for accelerated studies, but chose to stay at Wasatch with her friends. She loves to read and always has her homework done quickly. Her teacher tells me she has the best report card in her class and would like to adopt Savannah. I had to tell her no at this time. :)
Savannah just started taking gymnastics a couple of months ago and is improving quickly. She really enjoys taking on this new sport. Savannah is also a great skier. She tried it for her first time when she was 5, but just skied her first season last year. She did so well that they moved her up a level. She will be starting again in January at Sundance.
Savannah's only weakness (and I am probably the only one to see this as a weakness, because I like things clean and organized) is that she can't keep her room clean. She loves to collect and can't let go of anything, including Kleenex outfits she tapes together for her stuffed animals. :) She is incredibly creative, but at the expense of my sanity. I have to say I am getting better because I love this side of her, I just need her to pick up after she is done being creative.
Jonah (7):
Definitely my most sensitive child. He could not hurt a fly, in fact he got upset that his siblings had killed some potato bugs. Jonah is always making new friends, even if it is just for the hour at a McDonald's playland, and he too gives me hugs and tells me he loves me often each day. Jonah would never intentionally hurt someones feelings, and is sensitive to what others say to him. I just worry that kids will figure out how sensitive he is and give him a hard time with it.
Jonah is super athletic. He started riding a bike before he turned two and took off the training wheels at 3. Now he is into riding on his ramp and doing jumps. He is a great little soccer player, but gets a little distracted by the fun goal posts you can hang on. He skied last year for his first time and will start lessons this coming year at Sundance. He is so excited. He also enjoys gymnastics, mostly the huge tramp and swinging on the rings.
Jonah is also a really smart kid. He picks up on electronic stuff really easy. Usually having to teach me how to play a wii game, use Dad's phone, or learn how to navigate a certain a website. Give him 5 minutes and he will figure it out, which is kind of scary. He also has a talent for learning languages. He is in a Chinese immersion class at school (meaning half day he is taught in Chinese and half day he is taught in English). His teachers say he doesn't seem like he is paying attention, yet he is the only kid in the class who interprets for the teacher. They also say he is way above a 2nd grade level in his Chinese reading, writing and speaking. Jonah often complains about having to do homework because he would rather play, but always manages to get it done.
Jonah's weakness is that he is so active. He jumps while brushing his teeth, wants to talk while doing homework, and while reading he likes to tell you how every line he reads applys to his life. It is hard to get through a book, yet he comprehends it all so well. He could have his homework done in no time, but he finds other things to think about. He is a real talker. He will pick up a conversation with any stranger on the street. It doesn't matter the age. His teachers say he needs to work on this, but I had teachers tell my mom the same thing until I went to college, so I don't see this changing for him anytime soon.
Jacob (5):
Jacob is definitely our funniest kid. He has every Phineas and Ferb episode on Disney Channel memorized, and loves to tell jokes. He comes into my room every morning and starts out by saying "Knock, knock." He mostly loves jokes with potty words like "poop" in them. And if he ever gets a new audience, he will tell them every joke he knows at least 8 times over. He also exaggerates every face he makes, whether it is a grouchy face or a really excited face. His personality follows this. Either really happy or really grouchy. Luckily for us it is usually really happy. :)
Jacob is a little too smart. He knows a lot of big words and knows how to use them. He is always making a "hypothesis" about something to see if it "works." And is aways sure to remind us if something is "appropriate" for him. He is always surprising us with a new word and a new idea. He is also a good reader, but would rather us read to him.
Jacob is our snuggle bug. He wants to snuggle every morning, and if he can he likes to sneak into our room and snuggle at night. He will snuggle through a whole movie and said he would snuggle with me until he gets married. I love this about him.
Jacobs weakness is that he is lazy. We have treated him as the baby in the family for the past 5 years, so he has never learned to do anything for himself. We brush his teeth, wipe his bottom, do his hair, lay out his clothes, and so he has never learned to to these things and we are having to pay the price. He did finally learn to dress himself, feed himself, and kind of make his bed, but we have a long ways to go. If there is a way to get out of doing something, Jacob will find it. No dummy here.
Liam (3 weeks):
Liam is our sleeper, eater, crier and cuddler. That's about it for now. Let you know how this changes over time. :)
