Trask River Daddy Daughter Date

Last week Dustin took Savannah on our ward Daddy Daughter Date. They went camping overnight to Trask River. On there way to the campout they stopped at the Cheese Factory in Tillimook to do the tour and eat dinner and ice cream. Once they got to camp Savannah played with some other friends in the ward, cooked marshmellows and answered questions for peanut butter cups (Savannah's favorite part of the night).

The next day they played down by the river.

Stood on these posts where Dustin had them wave to absolutely nothing, to make the picture look fun.

Set up a camp on the empty post for some catapillars (Pearl and Inchie),

And then finally she and Dustin went to the Tillimook Airplane Museum before returning home.
I got all the information from Savannah as she helped me journal this for the blog. Maybe if Dustin ever gets a chance he will add to the entry, but at this time I highly doubt it, being that he really doesn't have a free second in his day. I saw him at 11pm right before bed last night :) At least he got to go on the adventure and have a blast with Savannah.

Take Off!

Along with the yucky rainy weather last week, out came the creativity in my kids. They set up our bar stools to make rockets. I guess you also have to wear head bands if you want to go into space? They played in these rockets for about two hours. Pretty great!

Nikki's Birthday

Some of you might not know the 7th member of our family, Stevie the Frog being #6, well it is Nikki. Nikki is Savannah's American Doll and is very important to her. She wrote down her birthday (Aug. 16th) the day she got her and hasn't forgotten it. Savannah had been planning this party for about one week. It was themed around the Olympic Gymnastics. Savannah and Jonah had made her a wonderful bead heart and star that they wrapped for her to open. We had to make her a birthday treat, and we even had a floor routine event for the party. It was a most memorable night :)

Here is a picture of Nikki in her leotard and with her "prop" behind her. I don't know if you can see Savannah(under the blanket) holding her? But Savannah was trying her best to only have Nikki in the picture. :)

And finally our floor routine. I have to say I was laughing my head off watching this and hearing Jonah get so mad. :)

Hannah, I mean Savannah

The other morning I woke up and to my suprise I found Hannah Montana, I mean Savannah, in our family room playing Hannah Montana Wii. Yes my child is officially in love with Hannah Montana and even had to buy a HM wig with her hard earned money. What happened to PBS kids?

Jacob

BATH IN THE SINK
The first week of August the kids spent most of their time on the Slip and Slide in the backyard. This meant a lot of time running in and out of the house with muddy bodies covered in grass. I was tired of the messy tub and decided it would be easier to clean the sink. Therefore Jacob got a bath in the sink, which was way to crowded for his body, but he loved it!

A LITTLE RANDOM
Last week I was busy painting doors in our house and Jacob seemed to find everything that he needed to keep himself busy. He HAD to have his parka on (it was about 75 degrees and overcast) and carried this tennis racket, an almost empty container of bubbles and an empty princess Pez dispenser with him throughout the house the entire day. I thought it was a little too hot for the parka (are winter coats still called "parkas?"), but he begged to differ. As for the other items they were just "must haves" for this day.

Hillsboro Air Show

So on August 9th we were able to get free VIP tickets to the Hillsboro Air Show through the local radio station. Trying to get Costa Vida to place an advertisement has it's benafits for our family:) Anyway we got free food, awesome seats and the kids had a blast checking everything out.
