Swimming! Swimming! Swimming!
Now that the record breaking rain has passed, the kids are finally able to swim. Swim lessons, swim stunts, swim anything. It is hard to get them out of the pool. We are loving it here at Aunt Julie's house in Provo Utah!

A week of Pre-vacation
The snow ended up hitting Portland pretty hard in December, so school was cancelled the week before Christmas break started. Some snowy days, some icey days and even some dry days. While it killed the restaurant, the kids had a blast with the snow. The kids could be found playing at all times of the day outside. One night we even did some sledding at 10pm with the Jarvis family after Dustin got home from work. We wanted some family time and it was great.
Kasey Jarvis (our neighbor, best friend and second dad to the kids) built these great snow forts for himself, I mean for the kids, to have snowball fights.
Jonah, Jack and the rest of the neighborhood boys could be found at any given time playing in them until they finally melted.
Here is some footage of the fun the kids had in the snow.

There they go!
The boys (mostly Jonah) have been making different marble run structures over the past couple of years, but they found a new one this past week and had to have a picture. It may not be their most elaborate one but it definitely was a good one. Way to go guys! And it worked perfectly.
Jonah is really detail orientated when it comes to these things. He loves to "make things work." I guess that is why he is obsessed with the Discovery Channel, he is always "discovering" new things. :)

A Little Family Exercise
Track and Field
The town of Hillsboro has Track and Field events for kids every Wednesday during the summer, so we decided we would go check it out last week. The kids had no idea what track and field was, let alone races, but they had a blast. Every kid got a ribbon for each event they competed in, so we came home with a ton of ribbons because they wanted to do them all.

Here is Savannah doing the long jump. She had a lot of fun, but got a little too competitive and would get frustrated that she wouldn't win. But in the end she just said that she loved it and wanted to come here again.
Jonah is the one on the far left lane going over the hurdle. When he saw the hurdles for the 11 year olds he cried and said he couldn't do it, but then when he saw the hurdles for the 5 year olds he was so excited and did great!
Jacob doing the 200 yard dash, which was a little too far. He came in last by about one minute. :) But he did much better in the 50 yard dash.
