Tag We're It

OK so we were tagged back on March 5th (Sorry Katie) but I have been a little behind on my blog so sorry for anyone who has left messages for me and I am just now looking at it (Melissa and Jackie).

My kids have been tagged. . . here goes me trying to think of 8 things you just may not know about each of them. Oh, but I think I'm going to cheat and shorten it to 4 for the sake of the readers. Really, I don't know if you want to hear that much about my kiddos! (Quoted from Katie's site :))

Savannah 7

1. Savannah is a great climber. Savannah took us all over to her school for family night to show us that she can climb the pole (above) to the top all by herself. I must admit I a was impressed because I couldn't get myself 6 inches higher than starting point.

2. Savannah loves, loves, loves cats. She has Brown Kitty, which is a stuffed cat my mom got her when Jacob was born that she will not part with. It looks about 40 years old. She also helps all of the neighbors with there cats anytime she is given the chance. After school one of her most favorite things to do is go hold the cats outside. I think she will take care of cats professionally when she is older. And because we won't ever have one in our home I think this is a good idea. :)

3. Savannah is the most sweet, tender hearted child I know. She never picks favorites and everyone is her friend. She really does love everyone and never wants to leave anyone out. She is great at compliments and knows how to make others feel better.

4. Savannah loves her American Girl Doll that her Aunt Julie has spoiled her with. She love to dress her and play with her, and when she needs her alone time from her brothers this is what she likes to do best.

Jonah 4

1. Jonah has more energy than anyone I know. He constantly has to be moving. Which makes it hard to help him brush his teeth or read books to him at night because he is upside down, grabbing anything on the counters, pulling at your shirt, kicking you by accident and so we give him challenges to hold his hands still when doing such tasks. But with all of the energy he is by far the fastest runner in the family.

2. Jonah is very athletic and coordinated. He was riding a bike before he turned 2 and without training wheels at 3. He loves basketball and he loves people watching him do his "awsome stuff." He is also looking forward to playing on a soccer league this fall.

3. Jonah is obsessed with water parks, particularly Seven Peaks. He talks about it daily and if he meets a stranger he will tell them about it before anything else. He tells his Abby about it everytime they talk on the phone and he tells us one of his water park stories before bed each night.

4. Jonah is a very sensitive kid. He is loud and doesn't listen very well but he is so sweet. He feels so bad if someone hurts his feelings and he would never hurt someone on purpose. He loves to meet new friends at McDonalds and he cries very easily (double-edged sword). And one last thing, did we tell you he likes to talk (I guess we know where he got that from).

Jacob 2
1. Jacob is the smiliest kid ever. He has had all of his teeth since he was about 8 months old and kind of looks like a porana. He has the best deepest dimples. And when you have just had it with him that smile comes out and you forget what naughty thing he has done.
2. Jacob is really great at throwing tantrums when he doesn't get everything he wants. We have let it slide for too long because of that great smile, but now he has been paying the price in numerous time-outs. He gets mad over which spoon he uses, which chair he uses, about a toy he wants that his siblings are using, just about everything.
3. Jacob wants to be just like his brother Jonah, the good and the bad. He follows him everywhere and wants to do what he does. The problem he has is that he doesn't have the same athletic ability, so he can't do everything. But he has mastered the couch diving and mess making like his brother.
4. Jacob loves the T.V. way too much. He starts asking for Dora, Deigo, or Tom and Jerry from the moment he wakes up. Once again the tantrums start when I say no, but he tends to get over them quickly. If Jacob could watch TV all day he probably would, which is a good thing that Dad isn't babysitting everyday or this would probably happen.

GIRLS WEEKEND- (Feb. 21-24)
Do I have a great family, or am I just a great manipulator? Well a few weeks ago I saw flights to Portland for $59 each way. I immediately called Mom to let her know and then told her to let the other gals in the family know about this opportunity they couldn't miss out on. I mean they got to share bunk beds (courtesy of Jonah and Savannah) and even got a blow up mattress. Am I nice or what? Anyhow they somehow found it in their busy schedules to come see a lost and lonely sister. (Unfortunately Jen and Angie couldn't make it and were missed. Next time guys.)

We had a great time shopping and hanging out till early in the morning. In fact, we all bought some beautiful Japanese river rocks for about $5 . The thing is that you can probably only find these kinds of rocks at the Portland Crate and Barrel. Right Mom?

Well I can't thank my sisters and Mom enough and I couldn't love them anymore. I just wish they would all like to move here and then everything would be great.

So heads up to anyone wanting to come visit. We have deluxe accommodations at our always open home. So start looking for great flights and come see us.

Drive to Hagg Lake-
We consider it a miracle when Dustin gets home from church before dark, so today was a miracle and we took advantage of it. We went on a drive to a beautiful lake in Forest Grove and the kids had a great time playing on the steep hill by the waterside. Seems simple but it was fun to have a family sunday.

Camie and Sophie came to visit.

It is not very often that family (or anyone) comes to visit, so we were all so excited to have Camie and Sophie come stay with us for a couple of days. We can't say we did a whole lot but it was really fun hanging out, shopping, and eating.

Portland Children's Museum

One of the kids favorite places to hang out is at the Children's Museum. There is so much for them to do (rubber pit, construction, grocery store, library and clay just to name a few).

When we are there, Savannah likes to pace herself with the hope that we will be able to do everything. Unfortunatly this never happens. As for Jonah, well he would probably just stay in the "water" zone the whole time if he chose. And Jacob just loves to be with everyone doing whatever. It is only when we have to go that we run into any problems.

Anyhow, here are a few pictures of the kids with their friends Jack, Lily and Taylor, getting wet, drying off and getting ready for the theater.
